My story
Why I go
I’ve been travelling solo for over ten years. It started young and never really stopped — long road trips across Canada and the United States, and twenty-three countries along the way.
This site began as the diary of one of those journeys — a 17-day drive across Canada — but it’s grown into a home for all of my travels.
More than anything, I travel for the people. The friendships and genuine connections you make on the road — often with strangers, often in the places you’d least expect — are the thing I keep coming back for. Right alongside that is a pull toward the places less travelled: a need to see the world for myself rather than through the lens the media hands us. So much of what we’re told about people and places doesn’t survive contact with the real thing — and going to find out first-hand, meeting people where they are, has become the whole point.
Part of this journal is a memory book, somewhere to hold onto the moments before they slip away. And part of it is for you: honest guides and tips, both for people taking their very first trip and for those looking to venture somewhere further off the map.
